Thorn and Bartleby from Jeff Smith’s (for me) world-changing comic Bone. I discovered Bone back in the early 2000s, and before then I was very confused about what comics were. I was very attracted to the medium, but my only exposure to them was Tintin (great, but limited) and X-Men (ugh, 90s Xmen were not good). Bone opened a lot of doors to me as both a reader and a creator, and I owe Jeff Smith a lot for doing that.
He’ll be at TCAF this coming weekend, and I’m determined to meet him. We’ll see. *_*
